Every day, it seems, I hear about someone's joys
and someone's heartaches
this dichotomy
this juxtaposition
this contrast
of joy, and pain.
God meant for it to be,
because he loves us,
and we chose it. We chose it. We chose it.
And when I struggle with my whole soul
to hold the weight with half my heart while flying with the other
I learn that what makes
this state of being
not a war, but a LIFE
is holding one another, as friends and family
through the joy
and the sorrow
with persistent
kindness.
